Yeh Ting-Hao received his master’s degree in Fine Arts from Taipei National University of the Arts’ Centre of Arts and Technology. He has followed the audio-visual art scene in the field. His works are based on aesthetics of failure and mostly focus on the connection between sound and image, blending prefabricated and instantaneous sounds and images. With his works, he attempts to create a parody and debate that belong to the era of new media. He also participated in dance and theater productions, collaborating with groups such as YiLab and Naxs Corp. He established an Audio-Visual group HH with Yao Chung-Han in 2013.
"The reception amplification and transfigurahon of vibrations emitted by matter. Just as today we listen to the song of the forest and the sea so tomorrow shall we be seduced by the vibrations of a diamond or a flower."
Although it is not possible to hear the sound to diamonds and flowers, it is possible to do so with technical aids and algorithms. By applying modeling or 3D scanning technique, physical objects become digital data that algorithms can play out, thus making the image and sound share the same source. When one element is converted, everything changes. With a reverse oscilloscope, the geometrical coordinate data of the 3D object are transformed into sound waveforms. The vibrations through media are thus heard and seen as they surround viewers.
