Genesis: The Fifth Day
“So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it…and every winged bird according to its kind… the fifth day.” (Genesis 1:20-23) Creating all kinds of life from nothing is an extreme miracle beyond human imagination. Genesis: The Fifth Day is a motorized light sculpture that pays tribute to the wonders made by the Creator. The refraction of light as well as the interplay of light and shadow are projected onto the surrounding white walls of the exhibition space, surfacing as a wide spectrum of microorganisms symbolizing life and a myriad of abstract shapes representing the great nature. The slowly streaming light, along with its variations in the space, immerses the audience in a tranquil abstract space.
