目前任教於國立臺北商業大學,主要專注在人機互動設計以及新媒體藝術創作、使用者研究等。長年耕耘於互動科技領域,專長於應用電子材料與電腦科技進行互動裝置設計與互動藝術創作,並於互動科技應用教學上不遺於力。其創作與教學主要以「好玩」為理念,他認為好玩的事物最容易引發赤子之心,同時可以融入互動作品中加強觀眾感受。近期主要創作題材以都市中生物存在方式為主,探討生物如何在人造環境中生存並與人類共生為創作核心。
Currently teaching at National Taipei University of Business, Chiang Chen-Wei’s practice engages in human-computer interaction, new media art and user research. He has cultivated the field of interactive technology for a long time and specializes in applied electronic material and computer technology used for interactive installation design and interactive art, dedicating his time to promote interactive technology and its education. His work and teaching revolve around the idea of “fun.” For the artist, things that are fun, when integrated into works, can easily appeal to people’s uncomplicated nature and reinforce the audience’s perception. His recent works focus on the existence of living creatures in cities and explore how life survives in an artificial environment and co-exists with humanity.

人類過度習慣使用自己的視角看待事物,在這件作品中想使人們嘗試以機械的視角來看待世界。人們通常會以自己的觀點來創造各種事物,但假若同樣的事情從機械的觀點來看待「創造」又會是什麼樣子呢?這一群機械生命都是由機械的造物者所創造,他們需要面對什麼生存挑戰呢?他們在面對自然環境時,又如何與環境共生呢?在生活中會看到寄居蟹在海邊撿拾人們所丟棄的廢棄物作為身體的一部分,而機械生命體會如何面對這樣的生活環境呢?
This work invites viewers to see the world through a machine’s perspective. People are accustomed to seeing the world through an anthropocentric viewpoint and create things accordingly. What will it be like if machines are creating things through their perspective? Created by the Mechanical Creator, what are the challenges this group of mechanical life forms is facing for survival? How do they live within and adapt to the environment? We know that hermit crabs are using human trash as their shells. What would the mechanical life forms do when they are interacting with their living environment?
